Hi Mommas, who’s ready for the party season? I think now more than ever we all deserve a little time to celebrate the highs and put behind us the struggles of the year to party with family and friends.
Sparkling lights are going up and your social calendar is probably filling up fast. It’s time to get those baby sitters booked and take a little time to unwind and enjoy ourselves. You deserve it!
I look forward to a night out when I have taken a little time to think about what to wear. There is nothing more crushing to your party spirit than a last-minute dash through the closet to find something that umm, ‘fits' from last year, makes you feel good, or can be reinvented for this year’s party season.
As moms, we usually think about everyone else in the house before ourselves; we are running behind schedule and we have a mountain of unfolded clothes on the bed that we desperately search through. Not a great start to a deserving night out.
Using my love on online shopping, I’ve pulled together a few ideas that might help with your pre-party outfit planning.
First, you do not need to spend a lot of money to look fabulous. You just need to find clothes and accessories that make you feel good and give you confidence! It might just be a manicure or a new bracelet that helps dress up a classic LBD you keep tucked away. I love investing in bright lipstick, which I find detracts from tired mommy eyes. My current favorite is this MAC Mineralize lipstick appropriately named 'Lady at Play.'
If you’re looking for a fresh outfit idea, why not mix a bold piece like this sequined skirt with something that will have more longevity in your wardrobe like this chunky knitted sweater, studded boots, tights and you're good to go. If you want extra sparkle I love this dress from Free People in rose gold, which you could wear with black leggings.
If you are looking for a wardrobe classic that can take you from work drinks, to a family dinner, and then be worn later with flats on a school run, then how about this classic black midi dress from Aritzia, which you could also update with a velvet bomber jacket and boots.
Whatever you wear, make sure you feel good and have fun this party season mommas!
