April is stress awareness month, and children feel stress too. Help them calm down by making soothing lavender scented play dough that allows them to squish and sculpt their worries away. This simple play dough recipe takes just 5 minutes to make, but leads to hours of fun.

Combine in a medium bowl:
- 1 ½ cup flour
- ½ cup salt
- 2 Tbs Cream of Tartar
- 1 Tbs Oil
Bring to boil:
- 1 cup water
- Food coloring (we chose purple)
- ½ tsp Lavender Oil
Create a well in the dry ingredients and pour in the colored boiling water (an adult needs to do this step and be careful of splashes). Mix well adding more flour until it is a dough like consistency and no longer sticky. Kneed the dough fully to prevent any hotspots and then let the kids start sculpting away their stress.
This is the perfect activity to bring out before nap or bedtime.
