Our last (but most certainly not least!) mom of the month for 2017 is Laine! Not only is she a mom and Stroller Strides client, she's now a Body Back instructor! Be sure to check out a class from this inspiring mama soon!
Where are you originally from?
My dad was in the Navy so I’ve been lots of places but he retired in Silverdale when I was 11.
When did you join FIT4MOM?
I joined Stroller Strides in early 2016 before my daughter turned one.
What classes do you attend?
I started out with Stroller Strides and now am into Body Back and Boost, which I love.
Who is your workout buddy and their age?
Joey (Josephine) 27 months old and Teddy (Theodore) 8 months old. And my original workout buddy is Johnny, 35 years old.
What is your favorite thing about FIT4MOM?
I love that I have an outlet to do something for myself and my kids get to see how important it is to workout.
How has FIT4MOM changed your lifestyle choices?
I eat much better and my family also benefits from healthier meal choices.
What is your current job? Or what did you do before staying at home (if you don’t currently work outside the home)?
I’m currently a SAHM working on opening a whole family support practice as a lactation consultant and providing seminars for Principles of Marriage and Bringing Baby Home. Most recently I got my Body Back certification to teach classes here at FIT4MOM Eastside!
I used to sell LuLaRoe and I was also a Manager of Marketing Analytics. And I do wedding and event consulting on the side. I just can’t stop!!
Share your thoughts on the concept of “it takes a village” – is it important for moms to join a village?
Having a village is a major component of staying healthy and sane through motherhood. It also helps to have mamas that have your back no matter what and those that lift you up AND your kids. Mothers are the most critical of themselves and your village is there to remind you to be kind to yourself and tell you how amazing you are.
What is your favorite beverage?
I love COFFEE. Vanilla Americano with cream.
What is your favorite dessert?
Jamoca Almond Fudge ice cream
You are given 4 hours of FREE babysitting. What would you do?
I would get a massage, pedicure, hang out at the spa , get my hair did, and then drink hot coffee outside in the sun. Alone.
What is your ultimate child-free vacation destination?
Anywhere with good food and a sandy beach.
How has becoming a mother changed you?
I have learned to not rush as much and to be ok with a chaotic and messy house. I’ve also learned that almost anything can be made better with a hug, a song, and a dance party.
I am happiest when...
I am happiest when I see my two kids laughing and smiling together while I sit on the couch cuddling with my hubby.
