Meet Lindsay, a familiar face at Body Back and Boost classes, and an inspiring working mama!
Where are you originally from?
Right here in Redmond!
When did you join FIT4MOM?
I joined in March of this year when I signed up for my first Body Back session. I signed up at like 2:00 am as I was holding my sleeping 3 month old son, and immediately wondered if I had just made a good choice or a terrible mistake. It was definitely the best step towards health and happiness I could have made.
What classes do you attend?
Body Back (M/W Redmond 8:00 pm woot woot!) and Boost classes when I can sneak them in.
Who is/are your workout buddy(ies) and their age(s)?
I love all the amazing ladies that I've been working out with since I started BB. They inspire all the time. I can't pick just a few!
What is your favorite thing about FIT4MOM?
I love that everyone is friendly, open, and encouraging. I struggled previously to find workouts that I enjoyed and that felt inclusive. FIT4MOM is both of those things, plus amazing community.
What is your current job? Or what did you do before staying at home (if you don’t currently work outside the home)?
I work in land development as a Landscape Architect and Project Manager.
Share your thoughts on the concept of “it takes a village” – is it important for moms to join a village?
YES! Not being with moms in a similar life stage going through the same joys and struggles can feel very isolating. Being in community with other moms helps me to be the best mother that I can be to my kids.
What is your favorite beverage?
Hands down...an Old Fashioned cocktail. I'm a big whiskey fan.
What is your favorite dessert?
Creme Brulee is my favorite splurge for sure.
You are given 4 hours of FREE babysitting. What would you do?
A night on the town with my husband! I’d love to have a leisurely dinner, and enjoy a cocktail at a bar afterwards.
What is your ultimate child-free vacation destination?
A sailing trip around the Greek Islands. I would absolutely love a week of laying in the sun, swimming, relaxing, sleep and reading.
How has becoming a mother changed you?
Being a mother is humbling, beautiful, difficult and amazing all at the same time. I think that I’m more of an optimist now because after the really hard days I know there is a bright day coming next.
I am happiest when...
I’m with my family. Going for walks together and snuggling my kids on weekend mornings are my favorite moments.
