Mom of the Month: Corinne Russell

Where are you originally from? My family moved around a bit when I was young, but I was primarily raised in Illinois.

When did you join FIT4MOM? Near the end of 2023.

What classes do you attend? Almost exclusively TRX!

Who is/are your workout buddy(ies) and their age(s)? I have two girls, Althea (5) and Amaryllis (3).

What is your favorite thing about FIT4MOM? I love the instructors, as well as working out with other women often in a similar stage of life.

What is your current job? Or what did you do before staying at home (if you don’t currently work outside the home)? I was a software engineer/manager for many years before I had my first daughter. I’ve been staying at home ever since!

Share your thoughts on the concept of “it takes a village” – is it important for moms to join a village? Absolutely. We all need people we can talk to and rely on. We can learn so much from others’ experiences, and everyone I’ve met in FIT4MOM classes is always willing to share a piece of advice.

What is your favorite beverage? Lattes in the morning and wine/beer/ciders in the evening.

What is your favorite dessert? Basically anything that has chocolate.

You are given 4 hours of FREE babysitting. What would you do? Go out to eat with my husband at a “grown up” restaurant (at a reasonable dinner hour)!

What is your ultimate child-free vacation destination? I’d love to visit Japan (and while that doesn’t necessarily have to be child-free, it would be for now until my youngest can handle a plane trip without screaming!).

How has becoming a mother changed you? I am much more patient (I think?). I also tend to think about and appreciate everything about life more than I used to.

I am happiest when...I’m with my family and friends, usually eating, laughing, and maybe playing a board game.
