What is your favorite thing about FIT4MOM? The sense of community I feel from interacting with other pregnant women going through the same thing that I am. I love how the classes encourage socialization so that it is easier to make new friends.
What is your current job? Or what did you do before staying at home (if you don’t currently work outside the home)? I am a software engineer.
Share your thoughts on the concept of “it takes a village” – is it important for moms to join a village? I found the earlier parts of my pregnancy fairly isolating because I am the first in my circle to have kids. I felt like a lot of my existing friends didn't realize how much being pregnant changes your life, even in the early stages. It was really nice to connect with other moms in the Fit4Baby class who were experiencing the same things and could truly relate to my experience. This community helped me feel connected to a village of people who were in the same phase of life as me.
What is your favorite beverage? Coffee
What is your favorite dessert? Cake
You are given 4 hours of FREE babysitting. What would you do? I'm not a mom yet, but I suspect that quality time with my husband will be harder to come by once the baby arrives. So probably a date of some kind with my husband.
What is your ultimate child-free vacation destination? New York City
How has becoming a mother changed you? I think being pregnant has already made me more selfless. Sharing your body with another little being for 9 months really forces you to prioritize someone else over yourself.
I am happiest when...I am exercising or working out! I can't wait to have my first really intense workout, postpartum! It feels like it's been forever since I've really been able to give my all to a workout!
