Where are you originally from? I was born and raised in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. My family is from India & Pakistan, and Washington state has been home for 20+ years.
When did you join FIT4MOM? I first joined with my daughter (who is now 6 years old), however became more consistent when I was pregnant with my son, who is currently 6 months old.
What classes do you attend? Stroller Strides and Stroller Barre
Who is/are your workout buddy(ies) and their age(s)? My daughter Rayna is 6 years old and son Sarhan is 6 months old.
What is your favorite thing about FIT4MOM? My favorite thing about FIT4MOM is the community and connection it provides to the mothers while keeping the focus on their overall well-being. It provides a safe, nonjudgmental, resourceful space for moms.
What is your current job? Or what did you do before staying at home (if you don’t currently work outside the home)? I work as a Program Manager within the Customer Excellence team at Avalara.
Share your thoughts on the concept of “it takes a village” – is it important for moms to join a village? The concept “it takes a village” emphasizes the importance of community support, and this community could mean family, friends, neighbors and many times others who have gone through or are going through a similar experience. Moms need to have a village or join a village as this can be incredibly beneficial. It provides emotional support, shared resources, and collective wisdom, making the journey more manageable and enriching, and can provide a sense of companionship.
What is your favorite beverage? A smooth cup of black coffee.
What is your favorite dessert? Magnolia Bakery’s Banana Pudding
You are given 4 hours of FREE babysitting. What would you do? Pilates, massage, and catch up with a friend over an amazing meal.
What is your ultimate child-free vacation destination? Amalfi Coast, Italy
How has becoming a mother changed you? I have definitely become more skilled at juggling things. This has prompted deep self-reflection and given me a strong sense of purpose and clarity regarding personal and family goals.
I am happiest when...I am able to start the day by taking some time for myself first thing in the morning. I try to start my days really early to enjoy some quiet time and give myself time before getting caught up in the rest of the day.
