Mom of the Month: Valeria Favrod

Where are you originally from? I’m originally from the French-speaking part of Switzerland. I grew up in a small town full of vineyards called Lussy sur Morges.

When did you join FIT4MOM? September 2022

What classes do you attend? Stroller Strides and Strides360

Who is/are your workout buddy(ies) and their age(s)? My workout buddy is Kayla and she’ll be two years old in November!

What is your favorite thing about FIT4MOM? I love being able to fit a workout into my day while being with Kayla, but I think my favorite thing has to be feeling part of a community (who understands why I’m always late).

What is your current job? Or what did you do before staying at home (if you don’t currently work outside the home)? I am a SAHM. I was a Pilates instructor and I was studying psychology and motion design in another life.

Share your thoughts on the concept of “it takes a village” – is it important for moms to join a village? Absolutely. It feels especially true to me since we’re living so far away from family. Becoming a mom without having any family around was challenging and joining Fit4Mom definitely made all the difference to me. I feel surrounded by strong and fun women who inspire me and brighten my days.

What is your favorite beverage? Bubble tea!

What is your favorite dessert? Vegan chocolate fondant!

You are given 4 hours of FREE babysitting. What would you do? I would go see a movie with my hubby, then grab a bite somewhere, and finally take a long walk while having a long and uninterrupted conversation.

What is your ultimate child-free vacation destination? My ultimate vacation is definitely child-friendly because I will always choose to go to Disneyland if given the choice!

How has becoming a mother changed you? It made me realize how strong and determined I am. I feel invincible as far as Kayla is concerned. I am also learning to be more patient and that it’s okay if I don’t get to do everything in one day.

I am happiest when...we are in the car with my husband and Kayla, driving to a nice day hike while listening to Thomas Newman. Those are moments of bliss!
